Returning to an Old Friend: Single Strike Lugia for Toronto Regionals

Hey, what’s up everyone! Hope you have been enjoying a month full of Pokemon events. In just the past few weeks, we have seen multiple Regionals take place, with Peoria, Sacramento, and Lille Regionals all crowning separate decks. In Peoria, we saw Lost Box Kyogre with the Zamazenta take down the event. In Sacramento, we saw none other than Lugia VSTAR return to the top of the mountain, and just this past weekend, Mew VMAX came from the shadows to surprise people with its dominating performance in Lille, France.

Now, we set our eyes on Toronto Regionals – the first Canadian event of the year, which is expected to have another massive turnout. The metagame seems to be getting more and more difficult to gauge, and today I am here to convince you on a deck I have been working on. I have been cooking up a pretty bizarre Lugia VSTAR list, which has quietly become one of my top choices for the event. I will be attending this event, and I am excited to compete in another Regional Championship. Last year I finished 15th at Toronto Regionals, so I look to improve on that record this time around. Let’s take a dive into one of my current favorite decks.
