“Snowfall in Portland:” Two Cold Rogues

It’s a winter wonderland, Subs! Welcome back to another piece from Yours Truly, where I break down the slipperiest of slopes that is the Paradox Rift format. Portland Regionals is just a week away, and the meta is finally starting to become centralized.

My last few articles have gone over top decks and ideas surfacing throughout the stabilization of this meta game. We’ve gone through Tier Lists and inclusions in other players’ decks that I was not a fan of. Now is probably some of the most anticipated content from myself, which is the Rogue decks I’ve been working on. I’ve had several ideas fail from this Paradox Rift format, such as Iron Valiant/Hisuian Samurott Vstar, Maractus/Snorlax, and Roaring Moon ex/ Sandy Shocks ex. I assure you these decks mentioned have a place in this meta game, and if coupled with tight play they can land you a place in Portland Regionals Top Cut. I’ll go over the card inclusions and how they are used effectively in these decks, and explain some of the ideology behind the builds, giving some insight into my Rogue process. Finally I’ll go over the viability and which decks these Rogues do not want to see.
