What’s up, Cut or Tap readers! I’m eager to be back writing for you all, this time about the Gdansk Regional Championships coming up this weekend. I will be in attendance, so I have been putting my best foot forward trying to figure out what to play. Since I last wrote for you all, I attended the Milwaukee Regional Championships where I placed Top 64 with Tord’s revolutionary Mega Kangaskhan/Mega Absol deck. Additionally I have played in some Cups and Challenges and picked up some wins there.
The format is in one of the most unique spots it has been in in quite some time. If you recall, in my last piece I wrote about the inevitability of Gardevoir. It had won the last more-than-a-handful of major events, and was showing no signs of stopping. That was until it was finally taken down by Jackson Ford’s Charizard in Milwaukee. That, mixed with the amount of new decks that Mega Evolution has thrown into the meta, has created one of the best metas we’ve seen in recent time. In this piece, I will be doing a meta analysis on the current format, and ending with what I will likely be playing for the Gdansk Regionals.
