“Vivas Las Dingus”: Top Two Picks for LAS Regionals

Welcome back, Subs! I’m sorry for the short break in pieces, but we are right back on schedule! The month of November is chock full of Pokémon events all around the world to prepare for. I’m going on a bit of a world tour myself, competing in back to back events at Las Vegas Regionals and LAIC. I cant wait to showcase some of the decks that are on my radar, and hopefully land some decent placements. The Mega Evolution format certainly has not been what I expected, in meta predictions or the recent Regional Champions. Europe’s meta has always fascinated me over the years as it loosely compares to the US, while also boasting differences amongst top players. In this article, I’ll go over some of the trends I was expecting that fell flat, covering the Gdansk and Lille Metas in comparison to the US meta. Finally I’ll list my top two picks for the Las Vegas Regional Championship.

Meta trends are a core part of my strategy when preparing for a large event in the Pokemon TCG. For those who don’t know what a “meta trend” is, I’ll expand a bit. A meta trend is a prediction or pattern that follows a certain deck or group of decks from tournament to tournament. When analyzing these trends, you have to look at the market, which in this case is Limitless TCG. Calculating matchup percentages and factoring meta share can be a great way to pick which deck you’re fine losing to or even the deck you choose to play yourself.
